About the Event
MANUFACTURERS COHORT – A 3-part process to accelerate growth that includes:
#1: A 3-day, 2-night Leadership Retreat at the Edward Lowe Foundation – October 31- November 2, 2023 in Cassopolis, Michigan
A $1,000 value per participant, which includes program facilitation, lodging, meals, snacks and nonalcoholic beverages.
Retreats at the Edward Lowe Foundation give entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to recharge — to step away from daily distractions and really focus on building their business.
Leader Retreats at Big Rock Valley is a series of educational programs for second-stage entrepreneurs. Sessions are highly interactive, and curriculum is designed to be a continuum. Each course stands on its own while building upon previous content. Yet there is no cookie-cutter format; retreat curriculum will vary depending upon each group’s needs.
What you get:
- Greater insights into your strengths and leadership style.
- A clearer vision about your company’s direction.
- Practical tools and techniques to accelerate growth.
- The ability to think differently about yourself, your people and your organization.
- Stronger bonds with your peer group.
#2: A program called System for Integrated Growth
The program is designed to help you sort through your companies growth challenges. It starts with a general assessment of your pain points impacting the company’s ability to continue growing profitably and helping it prepare for the future. Once those are identified, you will be assigned experts to help you address them.
#3: PeerSpectives - CEO Virtual Roundtables
The PeerSpectives® Roundtable System can be a lifesaver for leaders of second-stage companies by meeting with peers who share their experiences with tackling tough problems.
CEO roundtables that use the PeerSpectives methodology provides a confidential environment for participants to discuss sensitive issues — in their business and personal lives. Roundtable participants say they receive ideas on everything from marketing strategy and financial issues to dealing with difficult personnel problems. The roundtables also create accountability for oneself and strong bonds among group members.
Participants credit roundtables for enhancing their SIG engagement by hearing how others make use of their deliverables. And leader retreats give entrepreneurs insights about their leadership skills.
In addition to being used for second-stage entrepreneurs, the PeerSpectives process has worked well for managers within second-stage businesses, owners of smaller growth-oriented companies and nonprofit executives.
This program is administered by the Edward Lowe Foundation and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation as a service to you as a Michigan Manufacturer.

“Being part of MGA has made available resources we wouldn’t have otherwise. Specifically the System for Integrated Growth program that has helped provide information thru various channels that will help us grow our business. Being part of the manufacturing cohort helps us connect with other manufacturers to share & learn best practices from one another. It is nice to connect with others who understand and share common business issues."
